Appreciating Daddy

My husband has been completely stressed at his job the last couple of weeks. All I can do for him is try to keep our house peaceful and let him know that we appreciate what he does for us. I decided to make a craft that Allie at No Time For Flash Cards posted as a Father's Day project. I wanted to make it back in June, but couldn't find the time to get to the craft store for the shrinky dink paper (do you remember that stuff? Awe to the some!). I thought it would be perfect for our current situation.

Let me tell you, trying to get a 9 month old's foot print is no easy task! I should have read all the comments. Allie suggests using ink and stamping a baby's foot. I also left the shrinky dink paper in a minute or two too long. They really shrunk, but I am super happy with the outcome.

My husband loved it!

Wedding Cake

Ok, first I have to apologize b/c I took the practice cake to the bachelorette party, it never survived the first night! So that is as far as I got with it. But I did get a chance to talk to the bride, and this is what we have come up with. Any suggestions, or advice is greatly appreciated.

Last Minute Wedding Card Box

This card box was a last minute creation for my sister's recent wedding. She lives out-of-town, but was married in our home town so there were a lot of last minute preparations. I threw together this box the morning before the wedding and while browsing through her photos thought it was worth sharing.

Wedding Cake

I am attempting a wedding cake for my cousins wedding. Here is just the cakes with the crumb coating. I am not going to get to decorate them the way she wants right now, b/c I am waiting on some cookie cutters (to cut the fondant).

Not too bad for someone who has never done this before! Off to a good start!

Personalized Wrapping

I received this adorable invitation to my cousins wedding in the mail, and I was thinking, how can I personalize the wedding gift. Since the colors are gray and yellow, I found a gray/purple gift bag and some yellow tissue paper. I also purchased a sheet of yellow textured scrapbooking paper. I then cut out (freehand) some simple flowers and glued them to the bag using a glue stick. Voila! Personalized and simple Gift Wrapping!

Rock Photo Holders

Supplies:
Wire - I used 18 gauge wire (but would suggest a thicker gauge)
Rocks - as many as you would like to create
Needle Nose pliers

Step One: Wrap the wire underneath the rock and then twist the two ends together at the base.

Step Two: Strighten the wire upwards

Step Three: Curl the wire around a few times to create a spiral at the top.
Step Four: Insert picture!

*(You can also mod podge the stone to make it look wet or slick)

I went out and got a thicker gauge wire, and LOVE the results... see for yourself!
